THE INSTITUT CATALÀ DEL PEU CARRIES OUT A BIOMECHANICAL STUDY OF TENNIS TO RUTH ROURA LLAVERIES, CATALONIA’S CURRENT CHAMPION IN HER RANK.
Ruth Roura is currently a member of Mataro’s Tennis Club and she has a Fitmetric grant, awarded by the Catalan Tennis Federation, in order to carry out a complete 3D study of the gesture of service in tennis and a 3D functional study, as well as the monitoring of the tennis player, with her trainer, Manel Cabello. In the mentioned study it was analyzed the gesture of service, apart from the hits with the right and backhand. Likewise, it was carried out a strength test and different functional tests in order to determine possible faults and aspects to improve on a muscular and technical level. In her list of achievements, stand out the obtaining of Catalonia’s champion title on her rank (Junior) and the trophy as a champion of sub-16 2022 of the Mutua Madrid Open. Ruth Roura Llaveries, had in the Mutua Madrid Open, two placid games in round before the quarterfinals and quarterfinals, winning both in two sets against África Borillo Berezak and Rocío Amorós Navarro, giving only six games up between both games. She came up against Martina Genis Salas on semifinals, who won Roura in the final of Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander on April. This time, Roura was able to overcome her opponent in three sets, surmounting after losing the first set. Nowadays, the Institut Català del Peu through its Sporting Biomechanical Department (Fitmetric), continues working to offer these grants to sportsmen/sportswomen who, like Ruth Roura, are on a technification stage, and they stand out in the sporting field of their kind in order to increase the possibilities which may offer the information of their biomechanics, in order to improve their performance and/or to prevent lesions related to the tennis sporting gesture.
