THE INSTITUT CATALÀ DEL PEU SIGNS AN AGREEMENT OF COLLABORATION WITH CEU SAN PABLO UNIVERSITY WITH THE AIM OF BEING A CENTER OF PRACTICE FOR STUDENTS OF THE OFFICIAL MASTER’S DEGREE OF BIOMECHANICS.

The Institut Català del Peu had opened two years ago the first center of sporting biomechanics in Catalonia with the name of Fitmetric. It is about a plan focused on the biomechanic analysis of the sporting technique and the functional analysis through biomechanic technologies for amateur and professional sportsmen/sportswomen with lesions or a complex medical history which requires a specific biomechanic analysis in order to understand the recurring lesional process which some sportsmen/sportswomen suffer from.Its staff is made up of podiatrists, specialists in biomechanic analysis and specialist engineers in 3D Vicon photogrammetry technology. Vicon is the most advanced and reliable technology in the market for 3D biomechanic analysis, a very advanced system which enables to take countless movements both sporting ones and clinical. It is validated for clinical research.Since the Institut Català del Peu undertook its sporting biomechanics plan, different agreements of different kinds have been signed, from agreements with clubs, federations, bands, etc. and also now with important educational establishments.The agreement for making practices with the CEU San Pablo University allows to those received students for making practices, to be able to put into practice some acquired knowledge in the master’s degree. For Fitmetric, is a good chance to educate students that in future can become part of this plan, because Fitmetric is working hard in its development.The Institut Català del Peu with its Fitmetric’s plan is getting every time a better position through a very specializing service to the amateur and professional sportsman/sportswoman, and every day is increasing the number of collaborators from different professional fields related to biomechanics (education, physiotherapy, training, readjustment . . .), allowing to ease some lesions or to know lesional mechanisms.We expect a bigger development of this service every time, therefore, collaborating closely with institutions which form future professionals in the biomechanics field is not only one plus for the student, but also for all these sportsmen/sportswomen who need qualified professionals in different fields in order that sporting biomechanics will be a more widespread service every time. Thus, we can not forget to mention that a good biomechanics service is not only an advanced technology but also the deep knowledge of the tool, expert professionals in technical knowledge in technology, experts in the preparation of the appropriate tests, according to the case to treat, and with knowledge about sport and the muscular structure, and to count on professionals of other fields, like podiatry, physiotherapy, training, readjustment, etc. Fitmetric stands out as a company specializing in biomechanics at an incomparable professional level.
