The exophytic warts are solid lesions with a fleshy appearance and circumscribed. They grow in an abnormal way showing a remarkably protuberance regarding the dermic or mucosal tissue where they are located. The exophytic warts, as well as all the warts in general, are benign tumors. This kind of warts have a soft and elastic consistency, being superficial and less invasive than the endophytic warts. They appear without the need of showing immune disorders, although it is true that they are more frequent in immunodepressed people.
The parts of the foot where the exophytic warts appear more frequently are the dorsum, laterals or toes, locating the common plantar warts at a plantar, or interdigital level of the foot. The latter are of an endophytic or growth nature from the internal layers of the cutaneous tissue.
Clinically, we can mainly see whitish, reddish and brown pigmentations, appearing them in a multiple way, in many cases. The diagnosis of an exophytic lesion is always clinical-pathological, and as early as possible, in order to exclude it or differentiate between other similar pathologies in its clinical appearance.
