THE INSTITUT CATALÀ DEL PEU GIVES A CLASS ABOUT BIOMECHANICS IN TENNIS IN THE COURSE OF TENNIS TRAINERS OF THE THIRD LEVEL, ORGANIZED BETWEEN THE ROYAL SPANISH TENNIS FEDERATION AND THE CATALAN TENNIS FEDERATION.

On November the 24th ,  the Institut Català del Peu, through FitMetric, its Department of Sporting Biomechanics, gave a formative course about biomechanics in tennis in the course of third level of tennis trainers organized between the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation and the Catalan Tennis Federation. The Institut Català del Peu, through FitMetric, is the Official Department of Sporting Biomechanics of the Catalan Tennis Federation. Therefore, it takes part every year on different activities and trainings of the Catalan Tennis Federation, like in the course of second level of tennis trainers. Besides, one of the activities which is developed as a Department of the Sporting Biomechanics Federation, is to carry out several biomechanical surveys to different tennis players, with a series of specific goals through which we get the formative material that we make known in the Federation courses. So, one of the maxims is to give scientific content which we are studying and demonstrating step by step through biomechanics with the aim of contributing new knowledge which come from research on synergies with experts on different areas of the tennis player’s performance. Therefore, we provide new present contents every year and others which are developing, because many times the own trainers show us their needs and worries and they suggest us different points of view in order that we consider them in our research adding quality to many ideas on survey or to be studied in a future. This implies a direct feedback from the trainers and other professionals from the area of sporting performance in tennis, in order to understand the significance of putting into practice the research or following to research other ideas which have to take shape in order to extrapolate them to the area of training or play. This promotion of the third level course has been the first one which has been developed since we started this collaboration with the Catalan Tennis Federation. We have put forward knowledge and we have put into practice certain recent research that demanded certain knowledge or basis idea in biomechanics which we make known on the second level course, because the quality of contents allows us, year after year, to give the trainer a progression on knowledge which allows him to acquire a basis (second level course), and more specific knowledge to put into practice when you already have the basis (third level). The first graduation of the third level, in which the contents of biomechanics were quite demanding, has been very well received by trainers, whom we hope to have an influence on them enough, as to have given the keys for the development of enough tools to start new ideas in their schools and clubs which can suppose an improvement in the performance area of the tennis player. Undoubtedly, our work on these trainings is to generate knowledge which gives rise to the development of new tools to start, in order to increase the improvement of the tennis player, since, to a large extent, it supposes the need of establishing a work on synergies among the different professionals who work for the tennis player. And, biomechanics precisely houses, the knowledge which links the different areas of the sporting performance, like the physical training, technical training, materials, clothing, etc. in order to achieve or to guarantee that we are working in order to get the maximum potential of the sporting performance of the tennis player.
