THE INSTITUT CATALÀ DEL PEU CONDUCTS A BIOMECHANICAL STUDY TO THE RUNNER JAN MARGARIT.

During these days, Jan Margarit has visited the installations of the Institut Català del Peu in order to carry out some tests of functional and biomechanical assessments of the race technique. The aim of these tests is to know the deficits at a muscular level and, of the race technique with the purpose of being able of improving them and making optimum use of the performance. Jan Margarit is a great trail runner who is at the peak of his sporting career. On the last race, he has become Spain’s champion in the mountain category. Other titles to stand out of a brilliant sporting career are the 2016 and 2017 titles of the world’s Junior Champion in Grand Sasso and Arinsal. There are other remarkable victories like L’Olla of Nuria, Sky Pirineu, at an international level Dolomites Skyrace of Europe’s Skyrunning Champion in La Veia Skyrace in Italy. As Jan says, to win the Dolomites Skyrace , makes him to be in a real state when he remembers it. There are, furthermore, other personal ventures, like the quickest climbing to La Mola, 12,1 km. and 680 m. positive in 54.50’’. And a long list of achievements in which we could fill a lot of pages to talk about, because, nowadays, he is one of the runners with excellent world prospects and also at an international level in trail running. Jan, current runner of La Sportiva, has carved out a future for himself in the world among the best runners in the world. He is an enthusiast of nature who combines performance, health, adventure and fun in order to be at the peak of his sporting career. Jan Margarit knows closely our plan because he studied a Physics and Sport Activity Science degree in Front Romeu, in the French Pyrenees. Nowadays, he combines his sporting career with trainer of runners; among these runners, there are many of them with excellent sporting prospects. Jan Margarit understands and commits himself to the advantages of biomechanics, showing a great interest on our plan and seeing the need in runners of the access in this kind of studies, because it is an obvious enthusiasm towards technical improvements and the prevention of lesions. We are very happy to follow and accompany Jan Margarit in his sporting plan through the sporting biomechanics, helping in this way, to improve his performance and to prevent lesions.
